He will waste it if he gives it to other people and he doesn't have any for him self.
I think that Salva would share the water with the other people because it is nice to share things that you dont get often.
So he can help other people survive.
Salva wants them to like him more and so they share food with him.
He knows that his family has been killed in the war and that his uncle made him survive.
